Dialogue by Osceola Descendants

Osceola, born in Macon County, Alabama (1804), also known as Little Owl and Billy Powell, became an influential leader with the Seminole in Florida. He was of Creek, Scots-Irish, and English parentage and had migrated to Florida with his mother after the defeat of the Creek in 1814.  He died as a prisoner on January 30, 1838, in Fort Moultrie, South Carolina.

Osceola was born around 1804 in Tallassee on the Tallapoosa River, near present day Tuskegee, Alabama.  Also known as Asiola, or Billy Powell, his heritage is sometimes questioned.
